Who We Are
Our History
Nutthouse Family: Building Stronger Communities Together
Founded in 2020 by Derrick Jones and Brian Martin, Nutthouse Family was born out of a shared vision and passion for uplifting those in need. What started as a small group of 20 members quickly grew into a movement dedicated to making a real difference.
Our journey began with sponsoring our first St. Jude cancer patient, followed by hosting our first Back-to-School Bash. From there, we expanded our outreach by feeding and clothing the homeless, providing free haircuts and professional attire at community job fairs, and launching the Heal the Hood project—an initiative focused on restoring and empowering neighborhoods. We also introduced life skills training and mentorship programs to equip individuals with the tools needed for a brighter future.
As our impact grew, so did our family. Inspired by our efforts, the Nutthouse Family chapter in Aurora, Illinois, was established in 2023 under the leadership of Evelyn Perteet and Randy Stewart. This chapter continued our mission by launching their own Heal the Hood project, organizing Christmas toy giveaways, and offering vital assistance to those in need within their community.
At Nutthouse Family, we believe that by working together, we can bring hope, support, and meaningful change to those facing hardship. Our mission is simple: to extend a helping hand wherever it’s needed and create a network of love, service, and unity.
